Advice for the Elderly Residents during Coronavirus Pandemic

Advice for the Elderly Residents

To keep everyone as safe as possible during the Coronavirus Pandemic, the government has issued guidelines for older people to self-isolate.

We recognise that this can be a worrying and lonely time for many older people, and we would like to share the following advice, useful websites and phone numbers so you can seek further information:

  • Try and remain active around your home (and garden if you have one). There are a lot of resources online to help you get exercise at home, for example the NHS website: https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/physical-activity-guidelines-older-adults/
  • Try and eat well, sleep well and keep hydrated by drinking plenty.
  • Keep your mind busy with puzzles, reading, crosswords, colouring, crafts, games, or any other activities in the home you may enjoy.
  • If you have access to a smart-phone, tablet or computer consider video calling friends or relatives to stay in touch. If you aren’t able to set this up yourself, a friend or family member may be able to talk you through this over the phone.
